Side Ways Roy is at it again... The First Hemi Colorado Prowler is getting ready for a trip out west to show case his Hemi Prowler at the Big Vegas Car Show coming up.. Yes he's driving it out there and that is the reason for the back pack on the rear of his Prowler... He will have it ready by next month to make the trip.. He does have a yellow Prowler trailer but the roll pan that he has installed will keep him from using it at this time, that is until its altered to use his trailer hitch... He is working on a new grill with a slightly bigger opening to go along with the Killer Shark Side Panels that were installed last weekend to get more air flow to the 5.7 Hemi engine... This car does deserve a total story like promissed and I have tons of pictures of it but like I said I will only show case it when it does the Trail Ridge Road trip that is planed, that is when the 20 foot snow drifts are removed up there... Looks like some time in June... Here is some pictures taken last night at the Lakewood Bar and Grill that we have been hitting every Sat night as its Karaoke Nite... Lots of fun was had like always... onecatnodog image image

image These side panels that were fabed might look familar as they are all MOPAR... They are from the hood of a 2003 and up (2006) Viper... Just my opinion, I think they look KILLER and cool big time... image

Roy and Fran made it back from driving the Prowler to Vegas and and the Hemi Prowler proved again that it made it flawless... Still waiting to do the TRAIL RIDGE ROAD trip like I promissed to put the story out there.. Sixteen feet of snow has kept us from doing that and the road should open around June so look for the story... I have no doubt that the First Colorado Hemi Prowler will make it, But I gave my word that we would give Trail Ridge Road as the ultimate test, like the auto manufactures do with there cars before I reported to the world on this Great Mod and price of the Hemi Transplant... The Pictures Posted earlier of Roys new side Panels were not that good as they were taken late at night some from across the street just to give you a IDEA of the New Prowler Sideways Roy's Side Panels... Here is a better photo for you to check out... By the way the Lil Hemi Prowler took a award while out in Vegas and here is Fran and Roy desplaying it with there Prowler... onecatnodog image

I will have to agree with you there...Not only do they LOOK KILLER! They work BIG TIME with letting the Hot air out while letting cool are be sucked in through the radiator... Great to see you post, my most northern friend... onecatnodog

Wow!

Together with the car's rake, I think the shark side panels on that Prowler give it the illusion of motion --- even when it's standing still!

Any updates regarding that new grill he was working on to go along with those side panels?

The side panels are a big plus in helping to cool the Hemi and I myself love them.. Roy has shied away from the grill at this time as they were going to cut the nose grill area opening 1 1/2" larger on both sides just to cool the big hemi that's in his car, but the removal of the A/C condenser has helped Big Time in cooling the 5.7... Thanks for posting up SHOW CAR... onecatnodog

You are correct BeachKat... That Vent was added to feed the K+N air breather that runs down there giving the Hemi some fresh air from the outside of the car... John(onecatnodog)

First, just a minor clarification for those interested in putting "shark gills" just like these on a Prowler: I think those pictured are from the hood of a 2003-2006 Viper (rather than a 2003 and up Viper) because the 2003-2006 Vipers had 5 gills on each side, whereas the 2008-2010 Vipers look like they had only 3 gills on each side. That nit aside...

Assuming "shark gill side panels" for the Prowler like those shown here are not being produced for sale, does anyone know of a "how-to-build-it thread" which details the specifics for constructing this particular Prowler side panel mod? (I couldn't find that anywhere.)

On the other hand, if "shark gill side panels" for the Prowler like those shown here are being produced for sale, even just one at a time and on a very limited basis (like the "Mile Hi Prowler Grill" is), where do I get in line for one set of those "shark gill side panels" for my Prowler?

You are correct with the 2006 cut of year SHOW CAR for the Shark style vents and were made using the stock side panels and putting the Viper vents into them... At this time there is a 2008 and up (2010) Viper Vents in the works but will not be seen till late 2011 if things go well... Less vents but more flow as the openings are larger... John(onecatnodog)

Have we any word on whether or not either the 5-vent version, or the 3-vent version of those modified Prowler side panels would be available for sale? (I think the 5-vent version looks great, but I imagine the 3-vent version might too.)

If you use your factory side panels that came on your Prowler and can find the vents from a wrecked Viper hood it can be done for around $1,500 for the pair... If you have to buy new side panels and buy new Viper vents you will be in it for $3,000 plus... The 3 Vent newer style vents I picked up from a totaled Viper and will wait till I can come across some side Prowler Panels from a wreck also as I'm not one with big money... The eye appeal on the Vents is a big plus compaired to the Factory Plain Jane look and they do cool as it allows hot air to excape while letting the air be drafted in through the radiator... Yours is an interesting idea.

I'm curious to see how those vented side panels turned out, and in particular, how the Viper-style vented side panels will turn out.

After some owner-initiated prep work on the side panels (because they're being made of fiberglass) and after painting them, could these Viper-style vented side panels (without further modifications) then just be bolted on by their owner in place of the stock Prowler side panels?
??

It's been quite some time since we last discussed this topic, onecatnodog.

Nearly three years ago, you had investigated some possibilities for making 2003-2006 Viper-sourced side panels for a Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler similar to the panels which I presume were pioneered by Sideways Roy for his Prowler (and conditional, as you'd then mentioned, on "If you use your factory side panels that came on your Prowler and can find the vents from a wrecked Viper hood" --- OR --- "If you have to buy new side panels and buy new Viper vents").

The general idea behind that concept finally appears to be coming to fruition. Accordingly, if you haven't already seen it, a 10-08-2013 update by phil2237 within the "Viper Side Panels" thread of the "Prowler Performance/Appearance Discussion" section within ProwlerOnline.com may very well be of interest to you and others.
 smiley: happy
